From 131 rue Paradis to 2 rue du Général Carteaux, the bookshop moves to Malmousque
A selection of art books that follows the cultural program and rare and out of print books on the theme of art
Since 2015, the bookstore Le Puits aux Livres has been an integral part of the Alexis Pentcheff Gallery premises and the shelves of books dedicated to the theme of art rub shoulders with the paintings on the walls of our gallery in the Rue Paradis. The will of the gallery is indeed to offer for sale, alongside the works of art, an important source of documentation, not only on the themes of painting that it explores but also concerning the other poles of artistic activity. After seven years of existence and cohabitation with the gallery, the bookstore Le Puits aux Livres becomes independent and moves near the sea, not far from the Endoume district. You will now find it at 2, rue du Général Carteaux, under the steps that go down from the Corniche Kennedy to the little port of Malmousque (right next to the Corniche pharmacy). It is also in the heart of this typical Marseilles neighborhood that the gallery will soon move to a historic house, the Pavillon de la Reine Jeanne, which overlooks the little port.
The catalog of the Parisian exhibition of the moment, at Orsay, the Louvre, the Centre Pompidou or the Grand Palais, an in-depth work on your favorite artist, a catalog raisonné that cannot be found, a rare or out-of-print monograph... Le Puits aux Livres offers a vast selection of reference works in the field of ancient, modern and contemporary painting, sculpture, ceramics, architecture, design, fashion, photography, jewelry, heritage or furniture.
Laura, our bookseller, is at your disposal to search for the rare pearl among more than 3000 references of books dedicated to art. A children's book section, still on the theme of art, has even made its entrance in these new premises!
